Summer 2015 was eventful, busy and one to remember! This is my excuse for not blogging.
Life events included moving into our new home. A home we designed and built (well with the help of an amazing contractor and his team) ourselves. Its exactly how we dreamed and hoped we would be and three months in we are loving it. Although, a trip to a tarot card reader told me it may not be the only home we will have in our lifetime!! That made me a little sad but also reminded me, that we live a long life, things change but to enjoy the house and the here and now and worry about that later.
For Liwu Jewellery, it was another good summer as I teamed up with my fellow local creatives – Kabira Allen (Kymaïa Clothing), Naoimh Prim (Naoimh Prim Hand Printed Textiles) and Amanda Byrne (Highbury Designs). We with the help of local gallery owner, Claire O’Connell (The Gaslamp Gallery) we successfully launched ‘Emergence- an exhibition of emerging designers from Gorey’. It was an amazing launch night with goodie bags, fashion show and lots of Prosecco! A lot of hard work went into the launch and exhibition so we were delighted by the reaction of the public.
In June, I also travelled to Birmingham on a Jewelsmith CAD training course! It was really enjoyable and makes me realise how great it is to be creative and how lucky I am to have changed careers! All my sketching came to life and I have a new and exciting collection coming up to launch very soon.
Last but not least, we are expecting a new addition to the team in March 2016! Since, my best designing and ideas came when I was pregnant with Lucie, I am excited to reveal the same is happening this time : ). Exciting if not somewhat challenging times ahead.
